Amy and I took this backpacking trip with friends and optics students Zach, Kali, Amber, and Tyler (who is actually now Dr Neely and no longer one of my students, alas). Our backpacking trip covered many miles (maybe 50? 60?) in a large loop through the Maze District of Canyonlands National Park in May, 2010. This was a fantastic and incredible trip with a great group, wonderful weather, beautiful wildflowers, awesome scenery, and luxurious solitude. I'd do it again in a heartbeat!
The photos are arranged into groups by trip day. We took an extra day at the end to explore a couple of wonderful slot canyons in Escalante National Monument, and photos from this side trip are also included.
