16 June 2007 --- FINALLY!! I have somehow managed to find the time to download, sort, process, select, and upload photos from the trip to Queensland, Australia that Amy and I took in May 2007. The trip was fantastic in all respects, for both of us with adventurous travels, and also for me with 1.5 weeks of excellent interactions with some great physicists.
While the entire trip was wonderful, what sticks out most in our minds was how over-the-top friendly, relaxed, fun, and helpful everyone that we encountered was. More than anywhere else that either of us has ever traveled, in the US or abroad, Australia is a place that we can (and definitely do!) envision ourselves returning to over and over again just to be among the people there. (To any Australians and Kiwis reading - thanks for the much-needed boost to our outlook on the world and humanity!) The scenery we encountered was also great, highlighted in our 4-day backpack trip along Hinchinbrook Island National Park - simply stunning, unforgettable, and a blast!
Together, Amy and I managed to take just over 3000 photos, which have been culled to just under 400 posted here - still a lot in absolute numbers, but pretty good I think for a percentage! The galleries are contained in the 'Australia' group (of course) to the right. Feel free to email me with any questions about the photos.
